Freedom of speech. Freedom of opinion.

You know what they say about opinions right!?! They are like ____ everyone has one. LOL

I love our country. I personally would not speak ill of the sitting president regardless of whether I voted for him or not. That's just me. USA ALL THE WAY

Just because he is our president does not mean we have to agree with him or his policies. You cant demand respect you earn respect. Since we do have freedom of speech we can voice our disagreement with our president and are government.
I respect the office of the president, but that doesn't mean I always respect the man in that office. But I don't agree with with flag burning and chanting death to the president and the evil thing malicious name calling, that does nothing except down grade the person saying it. You will get more attention and farther ahead if you intelligently make your case rather then screaming idle immature threats. If someone is screaming and using discussing language to make there case I don't listen or respect them, If someone intelligently makes there case and is discussing it with me, I still may not agree, but I'll respect them. Truth and honesty is also a very important factor in earning trust.

For me there are two reasons.

Firstly .. it probably revolves around that Americans can have the president removed if he does illegal things or is leading badily.

Secondly .. The two recent presidents have done things which are questionably legal, questionably moral.

Related to Secondly: And now, the current American president personally is seen to be eroding many of the rights and freedoms that are considered important to Americans.

Since he ran on a "moral" ticket, and now is being seen increasingly immoral as new information comes available about the events of New York at "911" and the wars in the middle east were started. and the actions in this country that are being taken to supposedly reduce terrorism.

Because the of the 3 branches of gov't .. the presidency, the senate and congress, and the judicial side .. the last two are going to be voted upon again.

And things are getting nasty NOW because of the upcoming elections in November. NOW is the time to vote for people in US gov't -- either pro President .. or anti-President. Does the voter want to promote currently policies .. or put a brake on them.

This brings up much controversy.

Because they're permitted to be nasty. In all free countries bashing the person at the top seems to be the national passtime. In countries like America, it's not only passtime, but politics. The party not in power tries, in every way, to embarrass the party at the top. It's called negative advertizing. It sometimes backfires on the party putting on the ad, but they never learn. It goes on and on. Even if a Democrat thought the president is great, it's his duty to bash him in every way possible.

Because the media is run by the left. When was the last time you heard any news outlet other than Fox say anything good about Mr Bush? And this is an abuse of the freedom of speech.
If he were not president, he could sue for defamation of character. But since he is public figure, he can not.

I believe that voters found they choose the wrong leaders, bad decision and there are all the results, also his earned disrespect. I agree If you cant have the one you want to respect....respect the one you are with. Also what we say and how we treat others tells a lot how we are...human nature 96%. I agree, if you have your leader, let him lead, hope for a good direction.
Answer to your first statement : Because they are AMERICANS (Worlds melting Pot)
