Oh I know, this is such a testing trial for one. No point in going back to China again - and it;s not as though he can get lawst in the grynds anymore now that Orrible man blair has gone and banned Hunting. Perhaps you could send him fishing and arrange for a mysterious accident with a butler and a pound of bait. No, on second thoughts that may just appeal to the baser natures of the gutter press. Such a challenge for one, an Orrible Usband. Could you lock him in the servants quarters? Suggest that he has gawn ga ga? Just an idea - I find it works quite well . Good luck and Gawd bless you maam!

If he embarrasses you so much, why don't you put a dog collar on his neck, with a leash, & you can give the leash a good yank everytime he opens his mouth.
There is that the kind of advice you were looking for?
I always love it when a woman marries a man that she really knows that she can't live with, but does it anyway, thinking that she can change him.
Well honey, the only one that you have control over is YOU. So either learn to live with him, or learn to live without him.

Has he always been funny or just rude? Did he say the wrong things when you married him? If so, well he hasn't changed and perhaps you have. Sometimes we marry someone thinking "oh, is that funny" but after many years of the funny we grow tired of it all.
Maybe you can go w/o him? Tell him you would love to have him along but realize he tends to embarrass you so your best solution is to go alone. Then he may back off.
Other than that I would just love him for what he is not what you want him to be.

mine is like that sometimes too. He has a tendency to lie a lot and/or exaggerate on things to make himself look better... and he does it speaking so loud so a deaf person on the other side of the country can hear too. It's even more embarrassing when you know the other people know it's a lie he is telling.
the only way to keep him quiet is to leave him at home, duct tape his mouth shut or keep shoving food in his face so he can't talk.

have you told him of your embarrassment, he may not be aware he is doing anything wrong.
I felt my ex husband was an embarrassment but that was when I had no feelings left for him for him at all.
Maybe you should call it a day you take some one on for better or for worse but then life with someone you dont love is not worth it.

Dose him up with some Benadryl, so he falls asleep. Then go out with out him.
If hes still awake when you go, give him a few drinks at the party and he should pass out, just remember to prop him up on the couch. You dont want him laying about on the floor where someone might trip on him.

Did it ever occur to you that just maybe he doesn't like going to these functions and says things that may cause you to leave him home next time?
You might ask him if he would rather stay home.

The president (bush) embarrasses us all the time! and his press secretary covers it up very quickly.
So my advise is to be a competent press secretary and be ready to put out those fires when he opens up his mouth. I have a sister just like him and there is simply no cure. They just can't control themselves.
