Hi i'm smart, I've never made a "haunted house", but I've been to plenty of them. LOL! I like Laurel's ideas too. I used to drive the train at "Pixieland" (an amusement park geared for children "ages 3-12"). We always decorated the park for Halloween, and one of the best/scariest attractions was, riding in the "old antique" cars...because we had a prop (like a puppet show would be performed in) just your basic wood frame etc. And when the kids would drive by this "monster" (one of our employees) would start talking to them! He was in this costume (that was also made by one of our staff) but would be perfectly still, until the cars came around...so the kids would be scared at first...then want to come back around on the car ride again! John was great, because he would interact with the kids, it was a riot! Well, to make a long story short...LOL! My suggestion would be to see if you can get a "golf-cart" and drive the kids through your haunted house. That way everyone is safe and you can have all sorts of props IE; strobe-lights, moving creatures, spiders dropping from above, scary music playing... in general, mix-it up (as the people helping you could be mobile in the different "special-effects") your creating! WOW! Now I'm exhausted after writing this! Happy Haunting! XOXO Moonpie P.S. I know there are places that "rent" golf-carts, because I'm in the catering industry...and we do it all the time!

When we were kids we always used peeled grapes for eyeballs and cold spaghetti noodles for "guts"...things you had to feel in the dark. We also made dead bodies out of clothes stuffed with other clothes. Simple, but we thought it was scary. You can buy fog machines and fog solution at most discount stores (Wal-Mart, Fred Meyer). Good luck! =)
