They were red!
A poor little girl, Karen, is adopted by a rich old lady after her mother's death. She is obsessed with her appearance. She buys a pair of red shoes and repeatedly wears them to church, paying no attention to the service. Her adoptive mother takes ill, but Karen deserts her, preferring to attend a party in her red shoes. Once she begins dancing, she can't stop. The shoes take over. She cannot control them, and they are stuck to her feet. She goes on dancing nonstop for months. She can't even attend her adoptive mother's funeral. An angel appears to her, condemning her to dance even after she dies, as a warning to vain children everywhere. She asks the executioner to chop off her feet. He does so, and gives her a pair of wooden feet and crutches. She wants to repent, but when she goes to church the chopped-off feet with the red shoes dance before her, barring the way. She becomes a servant in the parsonage, but does not dare go to church. Alone, she prays for help, and the same angel appears and brings the church into her room. She is so happy that she dies on the spot. No one in heaven says anything about the red shoes.

If he had i might in all probability have study it.... he wrote some deadly frightening thoughts... i myself do no longer think of he liked teenagers plenty attempting to scare them like that.... yet i can work out the place you would be improper... the bible is afterall between the biggest fairytale books ever written... and scares little kiddies.... truthfully i in no way stricken reading it nonetheless...i like it whilst they have photographs! and anyhow the trailers of it at church did no longer fairly charm to me the two.... plus Hans christian Anderson's thoughts are alot extra sensible and achieveable.
