I would think that Cardinal fans would be all over this question!

1985 World Series Game 6.

First base umpire Don Denkinger called Kansas City's Jorge Orta safe on a play at first where he was clearly out.

The call all but handed the Royals the game. And they went on to beat the Cardinals in 7 games, partially because of the bad call.

Some will say the call in game 6 of the 1985 world series(royals vs. cardinals) where the first-base umpire blew the call(called the runner out when in fact he was safe) and allowed the royals to win the game sending the series to game 7.

But as a royals fan, they are wrong in saying that this cost them the series as this was in game 6 and the cards still had game 7 to win and win the series.

1975 World Series. Ed Armbrister interfered with Carlton Fisk, and it was not called causing the Red Sox to lose the World Series.

The Jeffrey Mayer(sp?) incident in the Orioles-Yankees game was a major blunder.
