I don't think you can withhold or change the mobile number showing for a text you send from your own phone. You could send a text using a pay phone.

I saw something advertised recently to enable you to do this but you had to go through a company and it cost £1 plus network charges. Cant remember what the company was called though sorry. Try to google it.
So it is possible :)

yep there is a lot on eBay where you can send messages and they look like they come from other people's phones.
type 200036530416 into the search bar eBay. from what the feedback is like it seems that it works but i can't guarantee because i haven't tried it

Can't see how you would do it. It could be dangerous if used with bad intentions so I don't think you can for that reason, even if the technology was in place.
