A good power washer will take off about anything. You probably won't need any detergents, either. Just the pressure of the water.

Holding the nozzle about two inches from the wood, slowly sweep the pressure washer along the stain. I do this to remove mildew from my deck.

If your deck is stained or painted, this process will remove it. So, you may need to touch up the area of the walnut stain to match the surrounding area.

If you don't have a pressure washer... you could try this first: spray a mixture of lemon or "Real Lemon brand" and water over the stain on a sunny day. It may bleach out the stain. If this doesn't work, you could try to spray a Clorox/bleach based cleaning product. If you use regular bleach, add a little Dawn dish liquid and maybe a little Borax and make a paste. Rub a little over the stain. Let sit for one hour. Rinse.

Good luck. I've used all these methods for my pressure treated deck with success.
