Asians,Hispanics, East Indians, and even black people don't seem to be bothered by their prejudices.
I've been to black neighborhoods and heared Asians called "slant eyed M.F.s.",and white men called "white boys", and "Honkeys".Also they use the N word more than anyone else.

I tend to agree. As "white" or Northern Europeans, we have been expected to be PC (politically correct) even if others are not.

I grew up in a primarily African-American community. The majority is always repressive of the minority no matter what the majority/minority is. I have also traveled to Asia and Europe. If you think that "white" people are prejudice, you have never been a black man in Korea or Japan, or a woman in almost every Asian country.

Ever since the black race gained all of their rights in the sixties, it has made this country pro black in every way. Blacks are the first to complain about issues of racism, but if a crime is commited, or some other reason a black person caused a problem with a white, a white can't complain about racism, or they are automatically called racist. I often wonder why we don't have White American History Month, and other holidays that celebrate the lives of MANY prominent Americans, not just presidents. This country is still very racially divided, not just whites and blacks, but many other races as well. It will never change. Every race feels they should come first. Trying to create tolerance in this country is a waste of time. This is a free country and it should be everyones right to feel the way they want, without reprecussuion, or violence.

Seems to be.

I was the most qualified for promotion when I was in the Army. I was even given the rank of sergeant in a acting position. However, when it came down to the actual money in the pocket promotion. I was passed over, because there were too many white NCO's in the Army.

Yes, I was ordered to continue being a acting sergeant. After 3 years I was finally promtoed to the actual pay grade.

After I got out of the Army, I was passed over in civil service position for Police Officer. This time it was for a woman. Sorry to say, Veterans were suppose to have preference, unless you were a white male. It took another year before I finally got hired and of which I proved to be the most qualified and became a instructor where she never made it past patrol.

Am I prejudice? No, but I am upset that we have come ot the point where we sacrifice quality for quantity. This of which does not serve the tax payer or America.

That's funny. In college I had a black professor that said that it was impossible for African Americans to be prejudiced (elluding to the fact that everyone but black people are prejudiced).

I'm white and I don't think I'm prejudiced towards people's races. Now, intelligence is a WHOLE other story...

Perhaps you should tell them you are offended, even if they aren't.

Often times, when one says it to another, there is little or no motive behind it, so they feel more comfortable saying it around each other even though it is wrong, however, if you do not point out that it is offensive to you, they may not realize that it is as wrong for them as it is for you. There is an old saying that goes for just about everything:
"What I say about myself is an observation, what you say about me is an insult."

Even though the words themselves are not directed toward you, you need to show that you are offended when they say it to each other because the motive will always be perceived as being wrong if you say it- even if you've known them all your life.

If the word is "wrong" or should not be used, there is no context in which it should be used.

Let them know.

Yes, it has gotten to be ridiculous. everybody has prejudices but apparently only the white people can't say it out loud. Everybody should be able to be as dumb as they want. Be proud and tell the world how ignorant you are. Don't be afraid. At least the rest of us would know who to avoid.

Pretty much, yeah. I know this Mexican dude with "Brown" on one arm, and "Pride" on the other. I asked him what he would think if I had "White on one, and "Power" on the other. What would he think of me? What if we had WETV, (White entertainment television.) as they have BET? It would be considered exclusionary, and prejudiced, right? So why isn't BET, or black history month, or the ***** college fund, or affirmative action, or....etc...If you want to kill racism, and bigotry for real, look to the blacks. They are the most racist people around today, because they are allowed to be.

the people in the 'black' neighbourhoods you go to do not make racist remarks because they are allowed to as they are black, it is because they are brought up in an environment where no one knows any better. I am sure there are white neighbourhoods where the people are just as prejudiced. Equally, there are minority people in more prosperous neighbourhoods who are better educated and therefore do not agree to racist comments . I suggest you do not look at things so simplistically, also your 'us' versus 'them' attitude does not help the racial divide we see in this world today.

Sure looks that way!

Only in America will you find this situation. Political correctness abounds! But Blacks are finally coming around. They are now beginning to see that Whitey is no longer the one holding them back. They are. I am proud of them!

Thank God for evolution. Oh my! Was that religiously incorrect?
