Let's assume that despite all the scientific evidence against such a thing, there really is an effect on us by the planets. If it exists, it must be measurable, and for astrologers to be able to use it to cast horoscopes, their claims must be consistent. After all, if a force cannot be measured, it cannot have an effect on us, and if astrologers say such a force exists, then all their claims must be based on that force, and should be consistent with each other.
Surprise! Astrologers' claims are not consistent. They're not even internally consistent.

a lot of famous studies on this... they gave horoscopes randomly to people (without the sign) and all of the people said the horoscopes were right, even though they were not the same sign. horoscopes are just vague enough that they can apply to anyone.

the only reason that people born during the same month might be similar is due to availability of nutrients & phytochemicals via certain "in season" fruits and vegitables during different parts of the year. the environment affects us a lot...so being born during certain times of the year can have effects on psychee.

No, because Astrology is not "bunk" as you put it. It is proven resorceful in many occupations and will become intergrated into our society much more in the future. Therefore, if you have the good grace of God to live long enough you will witness the power of Astrology and it's impact it will have on our society. Currently, it has a positive influence on our society.

To be perfectly honest about it - a person CHOOSES whether or not they believe in what they believe and have some experiences or logical conclusions that support their belief or no belief in astrology. Upbringing and faith also play in part about "new age" beliefs.

Those who view astrology in a negative light will always bash it and tell others not to believe in such lies and fairy tale visions and will go great lengths to prove that astrology is crap! Sadly with being narrow minded about things really limits the concept and understand of some things in life. Thing is do you see the world through your own eyes or view it how it is? The majority of the population view things through their own views and beliefs and trash the world how it really is.

The catholic friends, I have, view astrology as a strong form of devil worship and truly think those who believe in that stuff to have evil souls and wish to do harm to others. To them God is not properly being worshipped and that in your relationship with God you are being disobident and deceitful. God strongly disapporves of astrology and the people who practise it will be thrown into a lake of fire and sulphur. These folks would never accept what my Astrologer friends have to say about things cause all new age is WRONG - in how they view it.

The thing is if you don't believe in it nor even want to understand it, then it is no use for others bending over backwards about trying to convince you that there is truth in Astrology.

Of course I have a few Astrologer friends who can see the influences of the planets. They will observe what is going on in their lives and then read their horoscope - most of the time what they have read fits. They are not ones to go by what the papers say nor do they even hang on any word that their horoscope says. To them it's what they have experienced and can see the CONNECT between the stars and themselves. To them it works and can see the universe unfolding.

My astrologer friends are nice and caring folk who have a fun hobby of reading the stars. It keeps their brains active. I find them to be open minded and understanding at the best.

There are my two views on it. I find one's own beliefs to be an extremely touchy subject with others. I find if another beliefs are different from mine or I believe differently from another - there seems to be a great hosility due to the difference.

You will notice that the Christians and others with anti astrology beliefs on the board here get very upset about the astrogarbage and quickly go on the defensive quoting scriptures from the bible. The thing is they choose to get upset about it and how they view it also comes into play. Then they expect everybody to believe what they say is 100% truth and that they are absoluty right about it. Quick to trash anybody with different beliefs.

In closing, it's best to push aside one's own personal beliefs about new age stuff and just believe in it privately...cause nobody has a right or a say between you and what you believe in. You have been given one life and you are the captain of that ship - it's nobodys business to tell you what to do, think, see, feel etc.....

If Astrology doesn't work for you - ah don't sweat it. If it does, find some like minded and tolerant people.

All I know is, if you believe in God you don't need astrology. That's my answer.
