Im having problems eating all the correct food advised by all the books in early pregnancy. Although Ive not been sick I have extreme nausea and just can't face all the veg and milk Im supposed to be intaking daily. I am managing to eat fruit without much problem am drinking loads of water and taking my vit pill, but Im still worried my baby is not getting enough. I can only eat very plain things, such as spagetti hoops on (wholemeal) toast, a little cheese. Did anyone else experience this whilst pregnant and do u think it will adversely effect my baby?

I lost 25 pounds the 1st trimester.
I was put on meds
I was hospitalized
but what helped was vitamin B6 until i realized i was lactose intolerant and in return my son was born allergic to milk (there's a difference between lactose and allergic to milk)

What did women do before th "BOOKS" where around??? I wouldn't worry as long as your taking your prenatals but if your surely concerned try the ensure drinks for expectant mothers

Just about every woman goes through this.

You need to relax. Those books tell you to eat right during pregnancy for your own health, not the baby's.

Doctors and scientists have done studies which have proven that the nutritional intake of pregnant women in industrialized countries DOES NOT effect the health or final weight of the baby. A fetus will suck everything it needs from your body whether you eat it or not. Even so much as to leech the calcium from your teeth if it cant get it elsewhere.

Even things like folic acid arent imporant after the first few weeks of pregnancy, you need it BEFORE you know youre pregnant so the brand new ovum and later the brand new fetus can develop the basic systems correctly.

As long as you're taking your prenantal, and not losing weight past the first trimester, you're fine. Your health before pregnancy is what counts to the baby, during pregnancy the main concern is keeping enough nutrients in you, so that your body can feed the baby (which it will do regardless) and have enough left over for your functions and repairs.

Throw your giude book away and eat whatever you can get into your body at this stage. Pick it back up once your appitite returns.

Its really helpful at this stage to have people bring you a meal ready to eat, and you eat as much as you can THE SECOND it comes through the door. And then burry it in a plastic bag in the trash. This way you dont smell it, or see it, or have to cook it.

Take a b6 vitamin 25ml three times a day, it reeeeeally helps. Ask your doctor about it, iam suprised he/she hasnt told you to take it already.

You will be fine and need to stop worrying so much soon to be Momma. You will have enough worrying to do when the baby gets here-ha. First off the baby will get what it needs regardless of what you are eating. They take it from you. You hear about women that puke their entire preganancy and have perfectally normal and healthy babies. Just try to eat what you can and that is great you can hold down your pill. Drinking water is very important if nothing else. I was sick from day 1 until I delivered my daughter. I could not take my vitamins, but I made sure I always got liquids. My OB said if I can only choose between eating or drinking then chose the latter. Folic Acid is the most important thing to be getting since it helps with brain development. I hope you start to feel better soon. Maybe you will get lucky and it will stop soon for you. Preggie Pops help, ginger, seabands to put on your wrists were a lifesaver for me.

The only thing that I want to drink is milk!!! I am going through about two GALLONs a week... no lie. and anything else I thought I wanted to eat, I took two bites of, and i felt like i was going to be sick. I am starting to come out of that now, (15 weeks along) But the milk thing is still there. I CRAVE it... Just do what you can for the time being, You have to remember that even though you aren't nessacarily eating all of those things, the fruit and vitamins and what you can stomach is going to your baby first and then you, so don't worry about it for now...Water IS IMPORTANT!! for alot of reasons..... Keeping something in your belly in case you are sick, your skin will be clear and cleaner, you will have fewer headaches... yada yada yada, keep on hydrating. and good luck.. I know, it sucks, but think of what we are getting out of all of this!

That is still morning sickness try to eat a few saltine crackers before you eat what is making you feel sick and so long as you are eating enough food that you not wanting to sleep all day and night because you are to tired. You are doing fine and you baby will not suffer just because of morning sickness. For your problem with milk try chocolate mix in it or make it ice cold or put ice in it. Hope this helps you.

I'm going thru that right now. THe main thing is just eat what you can. I can not eat pork, ham, chicken and very limited amount og ground beef.
I've been eating perogies for 2 weeks straight because thats all I could stomach.

It will soon wear off and you can get back to eating proper things. DOnt worry your child is getting all he/she needs

this is normal, the main important thing is to keep hydrated. if you can only manage to eat these things, dont try to push other foods until the nausea settles. my ob recommended taking dramamine tablets. this helped a lot. there are also things that your ob can prescribe if it doesn't get any better. it will not harm your baby as long as you are still taking your vitamins.

Same thing happened to me, I puked non stop until the middle of my 2nd trimester, it was horrible. Just eat what you can and take those vitamins. Shouldn't be a problem.
