Your grades in any level of school will be dependant on the amount of work you put into them. If you don't put any work into it, your grades will reflect that and vice versa. Plenty of people that did well in highschool, do poorly in college because they don't put the effort into it. And plenty of people that did poorly in highschool do well in college because they put the effort in.

Do you remember when you went from being the big kid at grade school to the young teenage at middle/ junior high school? What about when you transitioned from Middle/ Junior High to High School.

We all go from being the big person on campus until we transfer to a bigger campus and we all of sudden are the newbie.

There will be an adjustment period. It's normal. Don't worry.

You say you got good grades and did well in High School. Once you get your College Life Legs going you'll do well in College also.

Just keep your chin up, wake up each day, go down to that university, tackle that quad, make it to the class on time, get a good seat, put your listening ears on and then do the homework. The next day repeat those steps. Before long you will have clicks of friends, and being doing all sorts of fun college life activities. However, dont' forget your studying -- it needs to be given your attention and made a priority. If you can remember that and do that then you'll be ok.

Hapy four years kiddo --- Welcome to adult life.

It really depends on the type of college/university that you go to. Small community colleges are much like high school, while larger universities and private colleges are usually a bit more difficult.
During my 9th-12th grade years I spent a total of maybe 30 minutes a week studying, if even that much, and graduated with a 3.97 GPA (and we had NO weighted classes, so 4.0 was as high as it went)
During my first semester of college, I spent about an hour a week studying, and had a 3.0.

Typically, students that have to study to earn their good grades in high school do much better in college, because they're used to the studying.

Not necessarily. Some people I went to high school with were great students and made good grades, very studious....then they hit college and found out what partying was all about, started skipping classes, got hooked on drugs, or eventually just dropped out. Your first two years of college are close academically to high school...but you are also given all the freedom in the world, like an adult. Some people who were so studious and straight-laced in high school have never had this freedom before...and some really live it up, and then run themselves into the ground, and studying or attending class becomes the last thing on their priority list.

not necessarily, but if you continue to study the way u do in high school, u will most probably do well
a number of factors decide this. [God forbid]what if a close relative dies, and you are left in such a shock that u quit studying? What if u get mixed up in drugs or whatever?
there's no guarantee to success. just make sure you stay focussed

i would say, in general, this is true. you are already used to being a good student, you will carry those habits with you to college, but it will be even better now, because you are learning what YOU want to learn, you are an adult and you will be treated with more respect.

if you like you`r faculty and the subjects you`r taking in university you will find you`r self doing you`r best to succeed and get good grades, so if you did well in high school but you don't like you`r faculty or subjects in university you will not do as well as in high school because people try to do their best in high school to reach their aim even if they don't like the subjects they are taking.
