I'm going to get a notebook, which store would you chose?

It would depend on what they had in stock at the time. Both are decent companies, though I do believe customer service through Best Buy is more convenient than through Office Depot.

Office Depot for sure. Best Buy is the root of all evil and they need to be stopped in their money-hungry tracks. If you want to read a list of reviews from some very pissed off customers and employees, go to BestBuysux.org. It should give you some idea of the way that they do business and will hopefully discourage you from ever wanting to purchase there again. The first thing you will see on that website is a little guy who scampers across the top of the screen, drops his pants, and pisses on the logo.

Also, I bought my laptop at Best Buy with an extended warranty that they refused to honor, was without the item for over a year with the combined amount of time that I had it in their service center. Each time I got it back, it had MORE problems than when I sent it in, and the last time I went to complain to a manager he actually reached over the counter, grabbed my arm, and started shaking me. He tore my rotator cuff, which I am still in physical therapy for and I still don't have a laptop. This really sucks because I am a full-time student and a single parent so I happen to be incredibly broke. The assault happened while I was wearing a military uniform.

Neither of those two. I'd go directly to the manufacturer, if they have an online store. But if I had to choose one of them I would choose Best Buy even tho I know they suck. Office depot just doesn't have a big selection and their staff really doesn't know what they are talking about, just a bunch of underpaid dropouts I think.

normally the only difference in stores is price... what you should ask your self is.. what note book do YOU want.. look for a note book my HP, IBM.. Toshiba ect.. find the one that match's the requirements you want it to have.. then look in all the stores for that model and look for the cheapest place to buy that type of notebook the cheapest... Good Luck

Jamie,
I would go with www.dell.com. But if I had to choose between the two of those I would go with best-buy.
