You need to learn to be a good listener. People love to talk about themselves and other people, so you need to ask them the right questions and just listen.

1) Have you heard anything about (give a name)? Did she really do that?
2) Did you go the see the movie (title)? Did you like it?
3) Do you have (teacher) for math? I hate him. What do you think?

First find something you're really like and have opinions about. Then find a group of people with the same interests, a club or where ever they hang out. Now comes the easy part look around and find someone, gather up your courage and introduce yourself, Hi I'm So and so, who are you? And how long have you be coming here? BINGO you just started a conversation. Or I think ____ is ___. What do you think? Don't be afraid if it fizzles out the first few times, it get easier each time you try.

Good luck.

By the way who cares what other teenagers are talking about its what you want the talk about that's important
