Not Only do you get to spend time at the Gray bar inn , you run the risk of having to spend time in a federal Pen. Turning back an odometer is not only a state Felony it is A federal Felony.
If you have to have work done to repair a Speedometer the Mileage that is one the Speedometer is recorded and sent to the State along with the Name of the Car owner. If you have to have you speedometer replaced, the new one will have a red face and the State is notified that the speedometer was replaced on this car along with the Owners name and the Car's VIN .

Yeah, Microsoft have been spending the last few years working on software to be used on a product that has no computer and no viable way for software to be used. I'm downloading some software at the moment which will clean my house and have dinner prepared when I get back home after work.

There may be software; however, reversing mileage is against the law in every state.

Well, Rookie, this would be considered illegal. Why on earth would you want to reverse the mileage on your car except for illegal purposes.

Buy yourself a brand new car, then the mileage on YOUR CAR is reverse. It's legal.

Modern digital speedometers are built so that you cannot do this. It was pretty easy on the dial ones, but still illegal. Be more specific, is it digital or a dial?

This can only be done by mechanics and I know for a fatc that its illegal to do it in California. I don't know if it is legal anywhere in the country.

That is big time illegal. I'm sure there is software or some method, but it still comes down to ILLEGAL.

It's against the law. Not only that, but it's very difficult if not impossible to do. So the answer is...you can't.

if its digital it cant happen. if its analog its possible by completely removing it and resetting it. BUT do know that what you are asking is completely against FEDERAL LAW. And comes with harsh punishments.
