Any form of conversion into a non conformist would simply be a process of conformity itself. In other words, a fallacy.

The only way to truly not conform is not to worry if you're conforming or not.

My definition of a non-conformist is someone that follows their on path. They are proud of their individuality and speak their minds and follow no trends or styles. Yes they can socialize with those that follow others or socialize with groups that are part of a click or group. But it is clear to the members of said group or click that this non-conformist is the outcast of the group. I remember the hippies of the mid to late 60's and many of them thought of themselves as non-conformist but most were not. Yes they were non-conformist when it came to the Nam war and had some revolutionary ideas when it came to our government but they still lived in communes where they shared like thoughts. Also if you did not have long hair, smoked pot or spoke hippy, then you where stereo typed as being part of the establishment and where outcast from the group. In other words you where not conforming to their definition of what being a hippy was. To me that is not non-conforming but in fact conforming. Hippies where non-conforming as a group in which you share the same society non-conforming ideas. A nonconformist has a hard time finding friends and sharing ideas because their thoughts are so removed from the norm and they are very hard headed about changing. Another example would be a nonconformist would have a hard time being part of or identifying with any political party as they will find themselves liking/disliking the ideals of one party as well as the other. I am very hard nose about what being a nonconformist is as very few people meet that criteria but they are out there.

To be a non-conformist, it is better to answer questions giving your own opinion "right -or- wrong" with out regard to what the majority might want to hear. Asking questions only keeps you imprisoned in your own conformity.

First off, stop trying so hard do be a nonconformist...which is a form of conformity.

Just be you and do what you want to do, and don't let the views and opinions of others change your views and opinions, unless you truly believe what they have to say.

Fear is a good way for a person to not conform. Fear of their own personal weaknesses to be specific.
