The best things you can do when you are exhausted are :
-> Run a long bath with aromatherapy foam bath. Light some candles and relax.
-> Pour yourself a glass of wine, plop your feet on the sofa, put on telly and watch X-factor.
->Listen to some relaxing music in bed and go to sleep.
Also, camomille tea, which is really relaxing and can help you sleep

When my son was born, my husband started working nights. I had to learn to do it all by myself, and consider when he is home as bonus time. I was totally bummed because I thought our new family life would be like a Johnson & Johnson commercial!! Now, 2 1/2 years later, we have made our own expectations of each other. I respect that he works and needs a break and in turn he does the same for me. I do have a couple suggestions for you though! If you have a baby bouncer, set it in the bathroom (with the door open!) while you take a shower. That way you can keep an eye on baby and take your shower! Also, get a baby sling or something like that so you can "wear" your baby while you get around the house to do laundry, etc. It sucks not having extra help, but I bet your husband will come around just fine. He's probably feeling just as overwhelmed as you and you guys need to talk about it.

I'm exhausted so I've been reading a book, phoning friends and eating chocolate - I am contemplating having a bath, watching a video afterwards and then getting an early night. I'm not sure how much of that appeals to you but the early night and video part might :-) Take it easy!
