phobic means afraid.
Just because people don't like the behavior or the agenda shoved down their throat, doesn't make them afraid.
If you feel abused from something, then get away from it.

Oh honey,if today is the first time on here,"THEN BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELT...IT'S GONNA BE A BUMPY RIDE!"We have a plethora of mixed fruit and nuts.As I'm sure you noticed already, just from asking this question, you're going to get blasted. If you came on here and just posted "have a nice day". You'll get some tell you"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!" to people pointing out "THIS ISN'T A QUESTION,WHAT'S YOUR POINT?!"I kind of chalk it up to the same mentality of yelling and screaming at the television. And on the other hand, you will find some of the nicest most caring people, that will say the nicest things.I looked to see if you had it to where people can email you,and it's good you don't right now.But I've had people email me and say that something I said in an answer, really helped them.Or write me and tell me they cracked up at something I wrote.Just yesterday A gentleman from England emailed me and again this morning.Just don't take ANYTHING to heart, unless it is someone truly caring about a problem you have, but just ignore the others, they're not worth getting hurt or pissed over.If you do decide to make it where people can email you.You can block anyone sending nasty stuff to you,by going all the way up at the top of the page, where it says "FORUM".After you get to the forum, again up at the top it will say messages settings, click on that, and you'll see to your left a light blue box,and you'll see ignore.Put the person's name that appears on their pic.And click add.VOILA! But it feels good when you can help someone, and vise versa. WELLCOME ABOARD.ENJOY THE RIDE,AND GOD BLESS.

Yahoo is a community and represents the world as a whole; as long as there is homophobia in the world there will be someone on here who is homophobic.

Yahoo itself is a bit homophobic as evidence by how well hidden the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgendered group is hidden on the categories list.

It would have been useful if you'd included a link to an example.
But there are homophobes using Y!A, just as there are racists, sexists and rabid theocrats. It's not Yahoo that's guilty, just some of the morons using it.
Treat it as free entertainment - not only can you go 'ha ha, look at the silly people', you can answer back, and it really rattles their cage!
Your foe is folly and your weapon is wit - go for it, have fun!

I don't know what exactly you've seen, so can't comment on whether those postings were abusive.

If you think anyone has posted anything that is homophobic you should report it to Yahoo and they will look at it and if it is decided that it is abusive it will be taken off

There are a lot of people on here with some very funny opinions. Also, a lot of people have absolutely no sense of humour. You can't always take the answers too seriously.

Stop whining, we all like to take the piss out of each other.
There is no one more bitchy than a queen.
Also some people simply do not accept that being gay is OK, and that is their right.
I personally don't judge someone on what they do (with their chosen one) for a few minutes a day.

First of all WELCOME to Yahoo Q&A,good to have you on board.
Because this site is Worldwide you will find that there will always be people on here that will insult someone,I for one, because of what I do (remove insulting/offensive posts) get loads but I can do something about it.
If you find a question or answer that offends you or insults you report it,and give your reasons, saying that, there are sometimes thousands using this site and some slip through,we can not monitor all of them.
This site is slowly cleaning itself up because those who upset or insult people are begining to realise they are not on here for long.
Good luck.

I'm not sure if they consider it abuse or not, but there is a button that you can click to report abuse. It's located right under the person's answer. And yes, there are alot of very hateful people on here. That's the reason I'm glad I'm up to level 2 now, so that I can rate answers to these hatemongers.
