As I said before, Dogs and wolves are really the same species but yet different. A wolf is a wild animal and has a tremendous respect for humans. In fact the wolf does not even come close to the evil representation man has given it! There is no record of a wolf attacking a man in North America! On the other hand, a German shepherd as a "wild dog" could be quite dangerous sense it does not have as great as respect or fear like the wolf does. I would imagine that the German Sherpherd in the wild would be a nuisance. Something that would be scattering trash all over our lawns, or harming young children, or the elderly. But genetically all the domestic dog really is is a variant of the wolf. They are the same but one has learned to live along humans while the other has learned to survive in the wild.

German Sheperd dogs do not live in the wild..... they are a breed of domesticated dog created by humans. If they have turned feral, (escaped from domestication) they eat mostly garbage from human towns, occasionally prey on peoples chickens etc. There is a big problem with feral dog packs on the Reservations here in Canada and as was stated above they are indeed a nuisance and they do not at all act like thier relatives the wolf. They continue to depend on people for thier food and they can be very dangerous because they have no fear of humans. If a German shepherd somehow joined a wolf pack it would eat what wolves eat,(deer, moose, rabbits, caribou, elk, rodents etc) but I doubt that happens at all...dogs and wolves are very different even thought they are closely related (dogs are a subspecies of wolf).
Excerpt from wikipedia... Tigers hunt alone and eat primarily medium to large sized herbivores such as deer, wild pigs, gaur and water buffalo. However, they also take smaller prey on occasion.
