Well first, spell poor old Paddys name right, then.. Use some good ole' Irish slang;
Craic; pronounced 'Crack.' Meaning: Buzz, news, gossip. Eg. 'Any Craic?
Well; Does not mean 'Well, are you going to do that or not?' But infact means, Hello. Eg. Well Mary how are ya?
How are ya keeping? Means; How are you?
Whats the story? Means, 'Whats happening, whats going on?'
Boyo; Boy, Jack the LAd. Eg. Oh he's a right Boyo that one!'
Babby; Baby, small child.
Belt; Wallop. Eg. 'I'll give ya a good belt in the mouth!'
Carry on; Noise, ruckus. Eg. A mother would say to her noisy children, 'Stop that carry on this minute!'
Cod; No doesn't mean fish, but infact means joke. Eg. I'm only coddin' with ya!
Joshin; Same as coddin. Eg. I'm only Joshin' wi' ya!'
Cop on; This one's hard to explain. Eg. If you were playing a joke on someone, and they realised, you would say they'd 'copped on.'
Culchie; City peple would call a country person this.
Da; Your dear father.
Ma; Your dear mother.
Divil; The devil. Eg. 'Oh he's got a touch of the divil in 'im that one!'
Dossy; Laid back, easy. Eg. If you had a class at school where you had a dozey teacher and sat about doing nothing you would come out of the class and say, 'That was pure dossy by!'
Class, Cla; Really cool.
By; Prounounced 'ba.' If something was really cool, you would say,'That was cla' ba!'
Eejit; idiot, moron. Eg. 'You buck eejit you!'
Fella; Male person.
Fib; Lie.
Gas; Funny. Eg. 'Oh shes a gas!'
Genie mac!; Holy ****!'
Shite: ****.
Letting on; Pretending. Eg. 'I'm only lettin on!'
Messages; Shopping. Eg. 'I'm away to get the messages!'
Piss the beds, wet the beds; Dandelions.
Press:Cupboard. Eg. 'Open the press and get me a biscuit there would ya?'
Spud; Potato.
Tip; Messy place. Eg. 'Your room's a tip!'
Champ; No, this doesn't mean Champion, as in World Heavyweight Champion, but it is mashep potatoes with scallions mixed into them.
Wear green.
Drink some black stuff. (Guiness)
Drink some whiskey.
Also, not all Irish people are 'Oirish' so to speak. Not all of them speak like that. Infact Northern irish peopl have a completely different accent.
Typical Examples:
Spiral from Big Brother: Oirish. From Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland. (the south.)
Roy Walker from Catchphrase: Not Oirish. From Belfast, I think, Capital of Northern Ireland.
