i own a static caravan in west wales uk .the owner has put my rent up £400 18 months ago and now this year another £500 ...do i have any rights?

Yeah, you have the right to move it to a cheaper place that you can afford or sell it and get rid of it. It's not a matter of right and wrong. The owner of the property can do what he wants to do even if it seems unfair. Look for a cheaper place to keep it then.

Happened to my mother she ended up selling up so i don't think you have any rights unless you have a long term set lease.

Did you receive any conformation of this increase writing?
If not then you do have some rights.
Ask at your local CAB office.
