Playground equipment????? We were lucky to have a vacant lot in the neighborhood to play baseball, or one of the kids dad's had put up an old tire swing on a tree limb. If we were lucky, we might even have found a 2 x 4 long enough to put on a fire hydrant for a seesaw. Playground equipment. The neighborhood was our playground and we created out own equipment.

The swing or the tire swing, and the slide and sometimes the merry-go-round. Goood times.

Loved to swing and still do. Also liked the seesaw. The monkey bars was a big hit with me until I saw a male playmate fall and break his arm in the 4th grade. Climbing for the sake of that on top of the world feeling kind of lost its appeal after that. Good question!!

oh my gosh, you just made a memory come rushing back. at first i thought about the slide and the swings. then i remembered this "thing" at the playground, i guess it was technically a type of monkey bars, but it was shaped like a giant car. when we'd head to the playground we'd cross our fingers hoping that there'd be no other kids on it so we could have it to ourselves.

I absolutely loved the swings! There was just something about them and about how they made me feel like I was flying that I just fell in love with!
