I think (just my opinion) that opposites attract because you're finding things in the other person that sort of make up for things that are lacking in your own personality. An example would be a straight laced person being attracted to someone who is completely wild. An introvert being attracted to an extrovert.

As other Yahoo! members said, the other persons' qualities complements yours. For example, I am more of an introvert and don't go out much so I am more attracted to extroverted men. They enjoy how I am more low key. I have a sense of humor while my boyfriend might be more of a serious type. However, if they are too much of anything then the relationship can go sour.

`In mature people, opposites can fill in the gaps in personality or ability of one or both people. For example, I'm creative and disorganized and my wife is practical and detailed oriented.
We've been happily married for 28 years (28 out of 36 ain't bad).

they dont always attract, just sometimes. when they do, i believe, it is because there is more to talk about. if u like the same things then talking about them over and over again would get boring for most people.

I think in some cases it's that one person brings to the table what the other person doesn't. I think that in other cases it's alcohol.
