my bf dumped me, and told me it was because having a "long-distance" relationship was hard on him (which really we only live about 45 mins away from each other) and he had a new gf the next day, which he said was only because she was there for him when he needed sum1 the most. He also said that he hopes things work out for me and him in the fueture. i don't know wut to believe.

It sounds like he had a girl on the side the whole time. He decided to go with her because of convenience or some other advantage that his relationship offered him that one with you would not have offered him. He is trying to offer you something in a statement that will ease your emotional distress or self-doubt because you were left alone by him. However, you need to move on with your life and not expect any future plans with him to materialize. It may be disappointing now, but be glad you did not have more invested in him than you could soundly, part with. Best wishes to you.

Just know this: EVERYONE LIES ABOUT BREAKUP REASONS!!! Not just guys, although we do it too. We (as in everyone, not just guys) lie because we are trying to spare the other person's feelings and pride. We all know it doesn't work, but we try to save to the other person the grief.
You don't break up with someone because you hate them. You generally just want out of the relationship. Therefore, there is usually no reason to hurt the person any more than the breakup will hurt by itself. So we all say: Its not you, its me; I need some space to figure things out; i can't be in a long distance relationship; etc....those are all ways of saying "I don't want to hurt you by saying 'I don't love you anymore." Really, people lie because they care.

And the reason it's important for you to know why he dumped you is what? Do you plan to learn from the answer? Remember that YOU didn't do it, it's not your fault, and about the last thing you want to do for your emotional and mental health is twist your personality out of shape to retain a guy in relationship.

doesn't really matter what his reasoning is, he dumped you. Put him away in your memory bank and get on with your life. There is no point waiting for him to run through a bunch of girls before he settles for you.

You know he is lying if he stumbles over his words, and cannot look you in the eye.
