that sounds about right, however you can always reserch on how much something is actually going to cost which may help in saving some money, for funiture, always check craig list and good will, etc. you get to find really nice things that people donate.

Here are some changes I would make to your list. Buy a car for around $5,000, do not finance, this is the worse thing you can do. Not only are you going to have large monthly payments with interest on a car loan but you would also need full-coverage insurance, if you are younger and depending on type of auto you get this will not be cheap. Repeat, do not finance a auto, wait until you are financially set and buy new, never finance or lease, you will only lose money in short and long run. Cellphone service may be more if you have to put down a large deposit because of no credit, I dont have this problem but many of my friends paid up to $500 down just to get the better provider and to avoid pre=paid cells. Wow, where are you moving to, a $2,400 security deposit for what? A townhouse or apartment? With this amount I could get into a luxury apartment or condo in the Twin Cities where I use to live, I now have a mortgage on a $300,000 home in western Wisconsin, if this home was in California or another high-price area Im sure it would fetch a million, and my mortgage, home and car insurance(both autos I own), utilities, cable internet, HD cable tv, cellphone, food, gas, neccesities are all well under $2,000 a month. The only other thing I see is furniture, I had only a bed, couch, small dining table, computer desk, and tv stand for about 5 years before I saved and got what I wanted, dont waste $2,000 on new stuff, buy discounted furniture and save up for any luxuries. With the total amount you give, $13,485, you should have no problem with anything as long as you are working and making a income. I moved out of my parents at 18 and struggled for 7 years just to save about half the amount you have to move to a good area. Then I saved for another 5 years to get to where I am now, and yes I am done saving and all I do now is spend, but I earned this right. You should be thankful for the amount of money you have to go on with life, alot of people cant even make this in a year let alone save this amount, for many that would take several years. My point, save and dont waste $, you dont need a flashy car or over-priced condo, try to spend as little as possible on items that dont really matter until you can afford them, luckly I had parents that knew and taught this to me and I cant thank them enough. Its not until you get older that you realize how much money and time you waste on items and things that have no purpose or importance in your life.

hi there!
I notice your transportation costs are 1200$ per month! That is crazy. First of all, I would find a cheaper car. 500$ a month is a lot.
Don't forgot about medical insurance or medications.
Don't forget about a monthly clothing allowance and entertainment allowance.
You also need some type of savings plan and emerency fund. Living on your own you will need an emergency fund.
That cell phone bill is very very high, as is the cable and internet. Try to find someone who offers a package deal.
Still not sure why the security deposit is sooo high.

If you have a car you will need to pay for car insurance. You will need full coverage if you have a loan on the car. You can expect about $100 a month for insurance depending on how good a deal you can get.

For someone just setting out on your own you seem to be planning to spend a lot of money on lifestyle items (car, cable, phone, cell phone, etc.).
You can buy a new reliable car, such as a Honda Civic, for no money down and about $300 per month. Insurance per year is probably going to be $750 to $1,000 per year if you have a good driving record. Maintenance might be $150 to $200 per year for the first 5 years. Gasoline would be $75 per month if you drive 1000 miles per month, get 30 MPG and pay $2.25 per gallon.
Can't speak to the housing. That varies widely by location.
$300 per month for food seems reasonable if you don't eat out often.
What kitchen applicance are you referring to, just countertop stuff?
Cable where I live is $42 per month for 70 channels. Local phone service is about $22 per month, cell phone is about $30 per month. RoadRunner internet is about $45 per month. I suggest doing without cable, cellphone and internet for a while to see how your income and expenses are going. You seem to be planning on spending a huge amount of money staying connected.

It depends. You failed to mention if you have any debt. Also if you have any money in the bank.
