I noticed ticket prices on ebay dropped tremendously over the last couple of days -- from like $300 a pair to $200 a pair. Was there a big announcement over the last couple of days, such as the addition of a second show (which normally drops prices)? Do you know of any websites which provide U2 gossip/news, etc?

Hi! I think I found the answer - indirectly. First I read an article in the Honolulu Advertiser on Aug. 3 stating that some ticketholders had the opportunity to return their U2 tickets if they wanted (due to seating configuration changes), and those tickets would go up for sale on ticketmaster. But that probably would have only impacted the supply for a short time.

But then later in the article it said that more floor space would be available in the concert if Live Nation - the promoter of the U2 tour - allowed a change to the seating configuration. According to the article, if Live Nation approved a change to the seating configuration, it would make six new reserved seating configurations available - L, M, N, LL, MM and NN. These are sections whose seats were not sold previously because with the old configuration, they would have been behind the stage.

While I couldn't find a press release in the newspaper or from Live Nation stating that they did approve the seating configuration change, you can verify this by going to ticketmaster.com and searching for "best available" seats in the $95.00 price range. It will pull up seats in Section N - which were previously unavailable under the old configuration.

So the seating change, that was it...created more supply of seats, hence dropping the price...
