In society, 13 is universally considered unlucky no matter where it is applied. Why? Because thousands of years ago when man was first discovering earth, numbers and lanugage, they could only count to twelve. 10 fingers and two feet. Anything beyond where they could fathom was considered dark, unlucky and dangerous. When more numbers were "discovered" 13 came right after twelve and was then considered the darker, stranger number of them all.

I don't know why it seems to be an unlucky day. I was born on the 13th and every birthday I end up crying and when it lands on a friday it is even worse.
