Of the inflatable beds you've had to endure as guests or as a handy space saving method, can anyone recommend any model of inflatable matress and whether they are bad for the back in the long term?

I have a friend that prefers to stay over on drinking nights instead of drink driving home. The sofa is deadly and this is an idea. Otherwise it'll have to be the sleeping bed!

Inflatables are good.
The "Sleep Air" company ( and others) have built a great following.
For a "guest situation", don't take the cheap way out.
The portable models ( by all means buy the air pump) require extra care in their handling to avoid poking a hole in it.
As for back/comfort issues..........experiment with the air pressure.

There are good and bad points to waterbeds. Keeping them heated is one. You can purchase limited motion beds. I had a 90% motionless for years. I liked it but the cost of electric kept rising. I now have a heavy grade air mattress and enjoy it. I put it in the waterbed frame.
