I seem to have received very peculiar reponse to my other questions...see profile. I pinched this term "fuzzies" off the yahoo!answers site at the bottom left hand corner. Obviously a bad mistake.

When I get the "warm fuzzies" I'm feeling extremely sentimental, perhaps even maudlin.

I liken it to a certain type of "search" technique that some web pages have. The RX List Drug Lookup site I use has this search technique, described as:
A 'Fuzzy' Search assumes your input may be spelled incorrectly and attempts to find close matches. 'Fuzzy' results may appear nonsensical, at times, but reflect certain similar patterns to allow for a range of spelling probabilities. You may Turn Off this feature with the use of * as a wildcard. Fuzzies to ME are the warm ones you get when someone gives you a hug, or you hear your favourite song.
I doubt it's an overly affectionate term for the police.
and to some people, they're probably those who dress up in animal costumes to have sex (ie: Furries).

Funny.... I am a teacher and I reward good behavior with "Warm Fuzzies". They are fuzzy little pom poms and when the class collects enough they get a reward.
