I use Tampons and I can't believe how misinformed people are about them here, especially this one:
"when it comes to your period when you use tampons, the flow isn't really getting out of your body. It actually some is sticking to your inside and could cause endometriosis later on in the years. So your not really clearing all the menstrual cycle out your actually clogging it. There are different kinds of pads and comfortable.
Source(s):
medic"
This person is obviously NOT a medic. The tampon only enters your vaginal canal, it does not go up your cervix, or into your uterus. Your menstruation simply does not have to run down your vaginal canal before getting absorbed. It does NOT make things "STICK" to your "inside"! Nor does it cause toxins to be re-absorbed into your body, unless it is left in your body for an extended period of time, like 48 hours, and you often leave it in there. There may be some people that are more susceptible to Toxic Shock syndrome, but they probably have previous underlying problems. If you think about it this way. the pad is up against your skin, your skin is porous. If toxins could be re-absorbed from a tampon, why couldn't they be reabsorbed from a pad? A tampon is not a plug, it is like a sponge. When I have had a heavy flow, it still comes out after I have removed the tampon, it doesn't "get stuck" and go back inside me!
I feel like pads are dirty and smelly and I really could never go back to wearing them! There's a new thing that is like a cup that you insert, remove and clean...I wonder what that would be like? Do you think it causes toxins and menstrual blood to reabsorb? lol!

I use Playtex slim fit tampons and Kotes thin pads. I agree with the pads feeling like diapers. They are just easier to use when your flow is light.

I could never use Tampons. I had major problems. I liked Stayfree and Carefree pads.

I use Tampax Compack. They are easier to use than normal Tampax, although a little more expensive. Also they look like sweets in coloured wrappers in your bag, so it`s more discreet than carying normal pads & tampons around.
Wearing pads is like wearing a nappy!!!

hahaz.. pads feel like diapers to me too.. but i prefer pads to tampons though i have not tried tampons before, coz i dun like the idea of something cottony sticking up around my area and pads are easier to change...

I have to wear pads, due to the fact that I might get Toxic Shock. Orders by my doctor. Anyway, I use Always for the heavy days and the scented pantyliner by Carefree for the light days.

Tampons allow your body to reabsorb toxins and waste that it was trying to get rid of by holding them in your body too long. This can make spots worse, amongst other unseen blips in your system. I didn't believe this until I tried it. The ultra thin pads are ok - not as fresh feeling as tampons, I grant you, but I'd rather not have the spots!
