Not gothic. The party will be for both boys and girls.
I need decorating ideas, food ideas, anything!

Well is the 14 year old into Gothic? If so you can check out Evanescence web site and look at some there videos and get a good idea in how to deck out the place and have people show up in gothic theme costumes.

50's theme with poodle skirts. You could listen to 50's music, learn the dance steps and try to create some of the hairstyles. You can show movies like Grease 1&2, Back to the future..etc. For decorations the party favor stores have cut outs of records. You could also have a lip synch or kareoke contest to see who can do a 50's song the best

My choir had a party with a black and pink 80's theme. :) It was fun, and it made sense! You could get all the girls to dress up flashy, and then maybe take them for a picture or something. The picture could serve as a party favor - one copy for each girl.
Decorations should be fun with this idea, so good luck!
