Abuse takes many forms. Physical injury, non physical, emotional, sexual , non-sexual can all leave terrible scars. If a man hits his wife once, he is likely to do it again unless he learns that the punishment for his action is harsher than what he has meted out to her. Thus men who are afraid of the law- going to jail, or her relatives would think twice of repeating an act of physical violence. But unfortunately for may women, those men also find other means to hurt their women. Chiefly amongst these is the emotional abuse- cursing at her, refusing to have sex or forcing her to have sex, demeaning her , and even cheating are forms of abuse . So a woman who experiences physical abuse should not consider herself out of the woods merely becaue he says he would not hit her again. Ensure that one abuse is not supplanted by another.

I have always heard that a man should never hit a woman.

After years of living with an abusive wife, I have modified that wisdom:

No MAN should EVER hit a LADY.

But it's just plain common sense for a MAN to PUNCH a B*TCH dead in the face.

So, If a woman wants to Hit you like she thinks she is a man, you should show her what it really feels like to get hit by one.

Since you don't seem to be abusive, I don't think you should be hit.

This advice is as good for women as it is for men.

The next time he hits you, beat the crap out of him and show him how to do the job properly.

I think most poeple deserve a second change for most things. This is a very personal situation that only you can answer. I think most would understand if you stayed and most would understand it you left.

If you decide to stay, you must make it perfectly clear to him that the next time it happens the police will be called, he will be charged with domestic assault and you will leave him. Otherwise he'll think your a mat and he can walk all over you.

how many times before this did he promise to not hit you?? It will not end, and it will not end with you. That is the type of person he is, you need to learn from this and learn to depend on yourself. you do not need a man that is hitting you, because that is not a man.. He has issues, and YOU CAN NOT change him or help him, even if you try.. Get your things and get out, the safety and concern of your children should be number one, best of luck and you are in my prayers..

A man should never lay a hand on a woman. If he, a man hits a woman he needs to be with another man so he can have an equal chance. They can do each others a s s and see who wins.

my daughter was married for 5 years to a man who was emotionally and physically violent, she went back to him many times, over and over he would charm her back, and promise the moon, only to break those promises. It was finally the last straw one day when he hit her, left no marks ofcourse, than called the police and reported that she was the abuser, he had scratched his own arm, when police arrived he produced the very badly scratched arm, and although she had no fingernails at all, she bit them, they took her to jail anyway. he got by with it completely, and she had to go to court, he refused to resind his lie. but anyway no it appears they don't quit the abuse, its caused from anger with in themselves. and no one deserves this kind of life. do yourself a favor as my daughter finally did and get a divorce, she is now happily married to another man who has never hit her.

you should leave in the first instance
ask questions later

maybe he will reform himself but that is way on down the line

your first thought should be to move to higher ground

I never hit my wife, except for smacking her bum. Sometimes she punches me in the arm, but I don't think that is what you are talking about, some do feel the need to physically hurt their loved ones for whatever strange reason, if your bf has this need it is time to go, you are not supposed to be in prison, you are supposed to be in a happy relationship

She should not leave now. If the man promised, give him a chance to prove him.

First a husband should never hit his wife unless she is trying to kill him.

You don't hit women. She should leave. He as already proved that he can control himself so hitting her again will happen.
