We have been together for about 1 1/2 years and I'm ready for love 24-7. I told him I want us to move in together but he said that he has to think about it because " it's a big step". What do I do?

Communication is the principal building block of any relationship, but communication isn't just about expressing a thought. It's also about understanding what your partner is saying and conveying, back to them, that you understand.Give him sometime,He is right in saying that this is a BIG STEP not just for him but for you as well.I'd clarify that there aren't any problems or stress he is feeling with the relationship,I think finding a compromise to this situation is probably the best solution. Your problem can be handled with a little more focus on your togetherness in your relationship.this should help you both give each other the attention you both deserve.Listen with the purpose of understanding your partner's point-of-view. Even if you don't actually agree with it, take measures to really understand why they have come to place of reasoning they are at. Nearly every time you do this, one of you will realize there has been a misunderstanding and the problem can, typically, be easily resolved.Criticism in the right manner and tone can be a very positive thing. When you cross the line and become too critical, it can end up killing your relationship. Realizing that you are overly critical can be a difficult thing as well. I mean, if you spend all that time watching the mistakes of your partner, how can you have time to look at yours? I think you should give him a little more credit then what your giving him now, at least be thankful that he is taking the time to think things over so in the end you both can be happy! Best Wishes

He is showing maturity by thinking about it, it is a big step after all. He obviously cares about your relationship, and moving in together can be trying, no matter how much you love the other person. Maybe he just wants to enjoy an easy going relationship for a while longer, and if things are going great maybe he doesn't want any big changes that could possibly have a detrimental affect on your relationship?

IT IS a big step, and maybe he wants to a bit slower. how old are the both of you? You may want to ask him again, and if he says "I need more time." don't be mad say okay and live with it, ya'll only been going out for a 1 1/2 after all....

It is a big step,If money will be a problem,if you move in together and struggle the relationship will not work,I don't know how old you are,so we can't go there to see if money will be the problem or not on your and or school.Any way it will work out in time.

He's right. It IS a big step. You're prepared to move in now, but he isn't. So, you have a problem. Discuss it with him. I said 'discuss'...don't argue about it, or start shouting. Ask him if he's reluctant to move in with you, and if he is, ask 'why'. Remember, you really don't know someone 'til you've lived with them. It's a big step just the same, but one that you must discuss.
Good luck!!

Give him a certain amount of time. Maybe a few weeks? Tell him that it's not an ultimatum, it's just that if he isn't ready you need to move on and find someone who is. Hopefully this will help him make up his mind.

Do you need confirmation of what you know you need to do? Screw your courage to the sticking point, put the question to him and prepare yourself for the answers.
