Ask to speak to your immediate supervisor away from the rest of staff and notify him you will be leaving for another job. THis is called "giving notice". THey may ask you to stay a couple weeks, the accepted norm for notice is 2 weeks. Good Luck!

1st off, Congratulations. Next, my son was in a similar position such as yourself. Because my friend helped him obtain the position I told him that he WILL give two weeks notice. I would suggest that you at the very least give notice to your supervisor and ask him if 1 week would be acceptable. Understand that how you conduct yourself establishes your character. You don't want to burn bridges because you never know when you may need the services or help of your current employer. Also I would hope that your new employer would appreciate your honor and integrity in doing the right thing. Best of luck!!

Two weeks notice is customary. No problem with saying you were offered a job where you will make a better salary. If you can't afford two weeks, then just quit, for the same good reason.

Give them a two weeks notice, to just them know they are leaving. That's the best time to do. Good Luck!

think of of it this form - on your cutting-edge interest, what's the possibility for progression? in case you're taking the IT interest, what's the possibility for progression? i'm suspecting that throughout IT, as you replace into experienced, your earnings strengthen is a lot greater than dealing with timber dirt and loud machines. do not concentration on the quick term scarcity - did not you bypass to IT college to do IT?

you should get someone to take your place. If it is a low paying job. it should be something most ppl are qualified to do. capable of doing. then your boss might say . you dont need to go through all the legal stuff.
