I just cant seem to get past the first jizzy mission in san fierro. the starting part is fine, but when i get to the preacher and his protection, i just cant seem to get him. is there a trick to it or is the mission really that tough?

That mission can be difficult. Start shooting at the protection first. It's just two jeeps. I recommend driving in the tram tracks and continually doing drive-bys in the desired direction, since trams are very very rare. If you can do that before you get to the City Hall, you're fine. With the limo, the way I did it, was causing him to crash into the concrete strip separating the two lanes on the motorway at the bottom of missionary hill (Once you've done the mission a couple of times you'll know the route). There, he will stop if he crashes and so is easier to kill. Though, if you haven't killed the protection by then, you can try creating a pile-up and taking it from there
