YES!!! It happened to me. Be wary though. YOU might be honest and upfront with all you say and do, but the other party might not be. He or she might tell you they're going some place, when in fact, they're going someplace else entirely so as not to make you jealous or think other things. My online relationship lasted 5 years. Yep, 5 years!!! We even talked about a future together, then suddenly she started acting strangely and informed me she was 'interested' in dating another guy. When asked if she had in fact done it, she denied it saying she never cheated on me. I had never cheated on her either. BUT there was a particular weekend when she went away....she used the most ridiculous excuses as to why her cellphone couldn't be charged and when she did answer the phone there was a strange tone to her voice and she was rushed to end the call. It came out in conversation a little later that the other guy was there (that same weekend with some others in the group) with his daughters. Thinking back, I didn't believe it. Isn't that terribly convenient. What the g/f didn't realise at the time was that I had remembered that guy's name..and it stayed in the back of my mind. Finally, I broke it off with her. Get this....I broke off with her in June (2005) and by early to mid-Sept. she had already moved in with him!!!! So, it would strongly appear that she was indeed cheating on me, or she's a very fast mover.
Certainly, I was hurt...but realised I had to move on, which I did. NOW, I'm very happy to say that I married a wonderful girl June 3/2006 and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
YES, it's very possible to fall for someone you haven't met face to face, but once again, be very careful.

Oh yeah! :) YOu fall in love with their personality - as you interpret it over like the internet or on the phone. Sometimes reality and the face to face just doesn't work - happened to me once a long time ago. It's really pretty painful - it's hard to mesh the person you knew from the phone to the person you meet eye to eye. Sometimes it works, too!

no its called infatuation, not love, u may think you are falling in love but haonstly the reality is that you prbably arent especially if you have never met them , you can only judge whether you will be compatable if you meet with the person. its lots of fun chatting on the net but in reality you dont even know this person. what ever you do you have to be very careful and always tell some1 if you are going to meet this person and preferably meet them with a couple you knwo for safety, if you find then that you are comapble then ok, you could arrange to meet them again at a later date. but be very very careful, and believe me, most of the time on the net its just lust, and that they make you feel good about yourself.

Yes but if you're talking about a cyber/phone relationship, be careful. You only know about this person what they choose to tell you, which may or may not correspond with the truth. There's also the risk that you are fantasizing your "perfect person" and placing the template over the real person; and when you meet it might be a shock.
Go mad with discretion.

It is possible to fall for someone no matter what the circumstances. Love is, itself, a decision people make about how they are going to cherish the valuable events in their own lives. Always be careful not to be too hasty though, because digital people are incredibly hard to read.

I know this is possible. I met the most amazing guy online and we connected instantly and for months on end we were online and continued to get on really well. After 6 months we both decided it was time to meet up and needless to say the romance was unbelievable. I still think he is amazing......

I believe it is very possible. Be Careful though.
Talking to someone on the internet gives you a chance to be truthful with out the pressure of thinking on your feet, but it also allows the chance to be very dishonest.

I've been asked out twice over the internet. It happens. In fact it's easier, because you lose the awkwardness of real life, and often you never see the person's real face.

I chatted with a man online for several months, we web cammed and talked on the phone and i was totally in love with him until I met him in person. then we didnt connect. So, It may appear to be love but i think its more of the idea of being in love then actually being in love with that person. You cant really know someone until you have spent real time with that person.
