We have several.
1. We have a German Glass Pickle ornament that is hidden on the tree on Christmas Eve, and the first kid who finds it in the morning get to pass out the presents.
2. We always would get oranges in our stockings, I think it's because way back when, oranges would have been a rare and special treat in the winter.
3. We always have Cinnamon rolls and orange juice and coffee for breakfast as the stockings get opened.
4. Every year I would buy a special ornament that represented something that happened during the year, for each kid. Like, when my little girl fell in love with horses, I got her a horse ornament that year.
5. And this is the most important, we always read the story of the birth of Jesus from the gospel of Luke, before opening presents.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas this year and find some traditions that your family will always remember.

First of all, I spend one night with a really good friend of mine where we go up to Christmas Lane and we walk and see all the houses that are completely lit up and decorated, carol with some of the people who we meet out there!! We buy Hot Chocolate and enjoy the atmosphere of the holiday with the rest of the community. Then we go back to her house, do our gift exchange, and spend some time watching christmas videos.
On Christmas Eve, my whole family goes over to my sister's house and we play Christmas Bunko and we have a big family dinner and then we open presents. Some of us have gone to Christmas Eve Services during different years. Christmas Day is usually over at my apartment where we just have cold cuts and sandwiches and open gifts from other family members who could not join us for Christmas Eve.

In my family we bake home made cookies, and make boxes of cookies to take to friends and families for gifts, I take my children shopping to pick and purchase one gift to donate to the salvation army for those who are less fortunate and may not other wise receive a gift. We attend Christmas services together as a family, my grown children also ( those at home attend regular Sunday service together every week) we sing Christmas carols, and just enjoy each others company and have a great meal together enjoying the company of our ever growing family. I know have a grand son to enjoy the fun. We discuss how grateful we are and all of our blessings. good luck and God bless

We have tree day. Its a day our family, and as many extended family members that want real christmas trees, go to the tree farm.We spend time wandering thru and looking for that perfect tree. The little ones chasing each other...the farm plays christmas music in the background as well.Everyone drops off their trees and heads to a designated home where we all bring covered dishes and have dinner together.

On Christmas my entire family comes to visit , so we have to cook a dinner for about a 100 people. After dinner we sit and talk about the past. It's fun to talk about the past. Sometimes we get together and play volleyball. This Christmas will be different , my grandmother has since past away and that's where my family always met . My advice to you and your sister is to call up your family and friends and have fun on Christmas (spontaneously). Thanks for your question!
