This is soooooooooooooo normal for a guy or gal to look at someone of the opposite sex, even while with their partner. We are humans first, not dead when in a relationship. Start a fight? Why in the heck would you do that? It's just a look!! It doesn't mean anything. Even in a relationship, women are going to notice sexy looking guys and guys are going to notice beautiful/sexy women. It's just a fact of life.
I am in a committed relationship with someone that really doesn't pay attention to other women while with me, but I would have NO problem if he did. I know that he is still human and not dead and still has eyes and a brain to notice. Guys are turned on visually. It's no big deal. He doesn't mind if I look either, and I do. I tend to look around at people more than he does, and notice people/things more than he does when we go somewhere. We are both totally secure with our relationship and each other, trust each other totally, etc. If there is no security and trust in the relationship, if there is jealousy from either or both of you, then doing this will not work and it will destroy the relationship in no time. There MUST be security and trust for a relationship to work. Period. The one who fights because of something that is just human nature is insecure with themselves, the relationship, and the other person, as well as not trusting of the other person. Those who are secure with themselves can trust others and are considered grown up.

I would say it depends on HOW they were looking...like a few seconds or like almost-broke-their neck staring...
It is normal for us all to look at others...I think everyone does that. But I think if you were staring at someone and even going on about how good looking they were...that's a little harsh for your significant other to hear.

Yes!! We all have eyes to stair and sometimes when a good looking guy passes our way I stair but then I stop after a minute. My husband does the same thing. As a person you have to be confident in yourself and in your relationship.

Fighting never solves anything. But if it makes you uncomfortable you should communicate that to your significant other. They say men are biologically wired to stare but I don't really buy that. Besides, my mother told me it's rude to stare ;)

this use to be a problem with my boyfriend until one day i decided to do the same and stare at a young handsome man. the result he got jealous and we sat down and talked about it.
i told him how his staring made me feel and he realized that it hurt my feelings. so now he doesn't do it any more because he wants me to be happy as i want him to be happy too.

It is normal; but you still have to start the fight, just because you've won before it's started.LOL
