Why not? You can call all of your friends and family etc. And its good for emergenciess or if your like lost. I just got mine last month. I love it, i get to keep in touch with everyone.

Hey kd, you should get a cell phone. And if you have a landline, you should get rid of that. I recommend Cingular. If you go to Cingular, or any other company, ask them which free phones they have and which plans they have. Try to get a plan which gives you the most minutes at the lowest price, but make sure you get nationwide roaming and free long distance. Then ask them to show you how to use the phone. The most important thing is to follow your minutes closely, so you need to learn to access your minutes on the phone or set up an account online. Find out the billing cutoff date and make sure you don't go over the allowed minutes each month or you will have to pay extra. Cell phones with nationwide roaming and free long distance are really great, cause you can call or be called from anywhere! And if you have a problem such as setting a ringtone or how to access a text message, just stop in their office and they will show you. Hope this works out for you!

Hey there.....ask yourself, "do I really need it?"....A teenager has a lot going on in there life and a cell phone can be a distraction, especially at school. But, it can be handy when going out with friends in case of emergencies. The cost is expensive and its not fair to burden your parents when you can talk on a regular phone from home or IM on the computer or In Person! You probably don't need one for everyday life, just borrow one on special occasions.

Well, it depends... Are you sure you really need one? Are you often away from home? Do you need to be reachable at anytime?
I know they look nice and trendy but cell phones also get really expensive. You should think this through!

Yea deffinately i know of a bunch of people including myself that have cell phones and no house phone. I believe it is a necessity nowadays.

u shud get one...
but once u get it you will be a slave to it
..
it will devour your money quicket than u expected
u will be a unstoppable user of the mobile at the beggining, and maybe for a loong time and waste a lot of money at the begginig
get a mobile..but not right now

yes especially if ur a teen cause its always safe to have a phone handy incase something happens and u need to call for help.

yes but get a go phone or a pre pay plan one so you are not locked into any long term contract

If I were you I would, even if it is just for emergencies. This day and age you never know when you're going to need help. Even Amish communities aren't safe anymore.
