K, here's how my sister met Ben Affleck, and no this is not a joke. I live in Utah, and one thing we Utahns hold each year is our Sundance Film Festival. I was too young to care (I wanted ice cream instead of a movie), but my sister went to see some movie. On the way out, she saw who looked like, you guessed it, Ben. She just kindof strolled into the art gallery he went into and appreciated the art there. She was quite mature about it......
Anyways, she sat down next to him eventually and just started up a conversation with him, not goggling or recognizing him, but just chatting. That's really all I remember, but I got to shake his hand, and I'd emphasize, my sister wasn't all googly over him, she was casual, and treated him like a normal guy. Oh, and if you're wondering if that really was him, yes it was. My sister eventually tried to email him or something, but she didn't get anything but a letter or voicemail (can't remember) just saying He was unavailable.
Hope that answered your question.

If you are luckly enough to came across him or her in a restaurant or at the coolest night club. I once saw Paris Hilton in a private balcony at the club Pacha in Ibiza Spain (wish she was Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal Soccer World Cup team instead!!!)

NEVER approach a celebrity. Do not ask for an autograph. They do not want to meet you.
Here in NYC, when I see them on the street, I nod and keep walking. They don't want to be bothered. Celebrities are "at home," in New York City and Los Angeles. They do NOT want to be bothered, or asked for autograps, by TOURISTS!

The person could try joining the celebrity's fan club and getting a backstage pass.

I've worked "behind the scenes" for most of my life and have met many. Some are casual and chatty and some are aloof and don't want to bother. Just like everyone else, I reckon.

One doesn't. Most celebs and others of their ilk have bodyguards and they don't like strangers coming up and asking for autographs and wanting to talk to them. Keep your distance!
