First of all, be sure you carry a couple of pads or tampons with you at all times. You can get nice little carrying cases to put them in that won't embarrass you if it falls out of your backpack or something.

A lot of girls have irregular periods in the beginning. You may get some warning signs when you are about to get your next period, like cramping, bloating, or a backache. On the other hand, you may not. That's why you need to keep the protection with you at all times.

Ask your sister and your mom about their second periods. Since your first period was that light, chances are your second one won't be really heavy, so if you start feeling any symptoms you can check regularly so you won't get "bleed-through" on your clothing. And on those days you can wear dark pants or jeans so it would be less likely to show.

Well.. periods for the first 2 years are normally very very irregular.. to roughly estimate the date for your 2nd period, it will be on the 21st to 35th day (may vary for different girls) after the last date for your previous period. Example, for a 28 day cycle, if your previous period ends on 1st oct, your next period will be between 28th oct to 1st nov. However, periods sometimes do not fall on the exact date.. Sometimes it comes 2-3 weeks or even a month earlier or later, depending on your mood (stress and emotional disturbances, starvation can affect your periods from coming ealier/later).

If you are afraid your period comes during your schooling time, just bring an extra set of panties and at least 2 pads/tampons (of your choice to which you are more comfortable at) and keep them clean and non-transparent pouch (so that noone sees them) and bring to school. The set can come in handy when you realise your period starts at an awkward timing. Remember to change your pads/tampons every 8 hrs and so, for personal hygiene and to keep away from bacterial infections.

Hope this help!

There's no real way to know when your next one will come. You sound like a normal teenager because you are starting out pretty irregular. It takes a while for your periods to regulate themselves. Some girls (myself included) need to go on the Pill because their periods never do become regular. As for if it happens at school, just make sure that you keep some pads in your locker at school and in your purse. That way you always know that you are prepared. If you do not have anything at school, you can always go to the nurse's office and she should have some. Good luck, sweetie!

You probably won't know. I got mine 6 years ago when I was 12. I remember that I woke up and felt really wet. The blood was brown though, not the red I get now. You will know if it's really your period because it will last a couple days. In the meantime just keep some pads or tampons with you at all times just in case.

You'll be ok! we all went through it, good luck

Do you remember exactly when the day of your last period ended? If you remember that, then count up 28 days, and that's about when your next period will start. I did that when I was in college, and I got it almost to the day when my next period started, and I started wearing pads until it started.

The only thing that messed me up was near the end of my last semester at college, I got pregnant, and I knew something was up because my period was supposed to start about the middle of April that year, and it didn't.

If you don't remember when the last one started, when the next one ends, from the day it ends, count up 28 days into the next month, and start wearing pads about a day or two before. That way, if it should start at school, you'll be protected, and your clothes won't get bloody. Carry extras in your purse if you can.

your first few periods can be very erratic. my best advice would be to wear a panty liner and just keep a minimum of 2 pads or tampons with you at all times, just in case it decides to spring up at an inopportune moment.

this sometimes happens when it first begins, so i would just prepare for about every 28days or so, you could wear panty liners and this would be a good preventive measure and also carry some sanitary napkins or tampons in your purse and be ready. Good luck and God bless
