i dont think it will ever be the biggest sport in the U.S., but it's gonna get bigger then what it is now,it has improved so much in over the last few years, and it's getting stronger year after year, since soccer is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. currently....

According to participation numbers it is the most popular. More people play soccer/ football than any other sport. Especially on the organized level.
In our schools we have plenty of 3 and 4 sport athletes it's just what we do.
The other part is America is much more diverse, we don't have "one" thing we have many many many things going on. Our home is a Continent.

MOST POPULAR no way.
as an american who loves the game i know we got other MAJOR sports here to compete with. If it will ever be the most popular it will be in 2 or 3 generations. i say that because we need a well established league (which we yet dont completly have) we also need people to support the game (which not many do YET)

no football is too physical and has too much team-work for most americans. you can be fat and play american football and baseball well. it's ingrained in their culture. as soon as they realise you can't run past every man and score a super goal they give up on 'soccer' (whatever the hell that is). american football and baseball are more to with individual skill. if you notice at american football and baseball matches the fans rarely sing and often become disinterested so they need to have constant breaks to entertain the fans. football doesn't make stoppages, so there's less money in it - it'll never get the backing that baseball and american football get. basketball is very physical but europeans......well, a goal isn't as thrilling if there's 2 every minute

If is does they will soon become a bloody fantastic team!!!
They have an awful lot of people to choose from and they have the most incredible coaching techniques to date. They have the most sort after facilities worldwide and every person there inspires to be the best. Cant wait for it to take off, God help English football when it does and nothing will stop them.!!!

No. Although it's very popular in colleges and among women, these are clearly minority areas in America where Tv rules. I don't think they even show the World Cup games and even when the USA qualify I doubt it makes the main channels but is probably on cable.

as long as the others sports such as baseball, basketball, American football & NASCAR racing remains as UNITED STATES favourite sports, soccer will always remain as the least favourite sport. even during the FIFA World Cup finals, most American are not aware that the World Cup finals was taking place last June & they don't care.
