I have the clear vaginal discharge which I believe is related to ovulation. My partner and I had unprotected sex last night. I want to know if I have sex the same day I ovulate does pregnancy occur right away or take a few days. How long does it take for the egg to get to my uterus?
I have had 3 kids, but never really tried for any of them. Now I want to but not sure how to calculate it to work out.

Hi there. There are a few things that you will need to take into consideration. The first would be to actually pinpoint the time of ovulation. The egg leaves the ovary approximately two weeks before the beginning of your next period.....that doesn't help very much tho does it? If your periods are pretty regular and if you pay attention to the differences in your vaginal secretions ( and it sounds like you are) you may be able to accurately pinpoint the time that you ovulate. ( you have already noticed that you have a thin, almost watery discharge during ovualtion) The egg is only viable for about 24 hours but it can be fertilized from intercourse that occured up to 5 days before ovulation. Sperm are quick little rascals and can get to the egg in as little as 30 minutes if aided by the correct type of cervical fluid. Without this cervical fluid to nourish them sperm will die in 30 minutes to 4 hours. ( the normal acid environment of the vagina will kill them). IF the correct cervical fluid is present sperm can live in a womans body for three to five days.
It all depends on being able to determine the actual time of ovulation and even if you can do that, you can get pregnant 4 or 5 days BEFORE you ovulate. If you are familair with your cycle you can predict when you will ovulate and figure out the days that you are most likely to concieve. Making love on the day that you are ovulating will work since with the help of the cervical secretions that occur during ovulation, the sperm can get to the egg very quickly. The odds of getting pregnant days after ovulation get slimmer and slimmer.
As far as when pregnancy takes place, once the egg is fertilized it takes several days to travel down the fallopian tube to the uterus where after one to two days it implants in the uterine lining.
If you have had three babies already I would certainly not worry about any of this, you are obviously fertile and all this stuff just happens the way it is supposed to.
Relax and enjoy yourself! You got pregnant before and you will do it again. Focus on the love and the baby will happen! Have fun.
Love and Blessings

Okay first advice I can give is www.mymonthlycycles.com. That has calculators and such so you can track your ovulation by tracking your period. So you know your exact date. Many website that you go to say that the egg is only good for 24 hours after it is released. But sperm can live 5 days in that ovulation mucus. So it can happen the day of ovulation or it can take up to five days. Usually 6-10 days after conception the egg reaches the uterus to implant. I hope I helped.

well this is how i did it...i started ovulating and i had sex that day...it hit my egg instantly and two weeks later i was prego.so that might work for u. if not then try to do it when you are on ur period or like two weeks after that is always the best time to get prego.

u may or may not conceive. it depends ur body shud accept the sperm then only u can conceive. but in ur case there r more chances if u r sure that u have ovulated that day.
