Most people want a weekend and by tradition most places are closed on a Sunday. Monday is the quietest day of the week for most businesses (except dentists and doctors) so it makes sense to close on a Monday and have an offset weekend. Chip Shops do the same

Very few need to go to the salon on a Monday so they just close shop and rest, besides, most of their customers were there on Sunday.

Easy. Because most hairdressers/beauty salons etc work all day saturday. The employees need two days a week off so they take it sunday and monday. The busiest period for them is thurs,fri and sat too, mondays are never that busy so it makes sense.

I stay in Missouri and eating places are frequently opened 7 days a week yet some smaller chains close on Sundays. and not all hair salons are closed on Mondays yet you're appropriate maximum are.

Most people have the weekends off from work. It behooves salons to stay open on Saturday and Sunday to accomodate their schedules. Since most people go back to work on Monday, the salons take that day off.

Cause salons are open Saturdays, they take Mondays off to get 2 consecutive days off - their weekend - Sunday & Monday.
The rest of us get Saturday & Sunday, so it's only fair they get two straight days too.

I'm not really sure but i know the salon i go to, monday is a day of religious observation for them so they keep the salon closed.

beacues they need a two day weekend like everybody else. and they cant close on saturday since they get the most customers on saturday. Also they usually get the least customers in Mondays.
