Yeah the Red Sox are the only team in the history of baseball. It is known to New Englander's as the greatest comeback of all time. As to the A's being able to their chances aren't great since they would have to win the next two in Detroit in the cold weather. But 28 teams in baseball history have been down 3-0 and the 2004 Red Sox are the only team to come back to a game seven and also win. There were only 2 other teams in sports history to do it. Both in hockey before the expansion era. (the 1942 Stanley Cup Finals), the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-3; in series 295 (the 1975 Stanley Cup Quarterfinals), the Islanders defeated Pittsburgh 4-3.

Yep. 2 seasons ago, the Boston Red Sox were down 3 games to none to the Yankees and they beat the Yankees 4 straight and then went on to win the World Series! So there is still hope for the A's! There probably have been other teams in history who did it too, but I can't remember what they said about it. They will probably be talking about it during today's game. Cheers!

2004 Red Sox. Only time in history. Was the biggest upset ever. Watch some of the DVDs about it, if you're a baseball fan. It was amazing. . .So I guess there is some hope for the A's, but really, it's only a small chance.

yeah most unfortunately the only time ever was when the sox did it to the yankees in 04. but you shouldn't cling to that, because oakland just doesn't have the offense to answer detroit's pitching staff. sorry.
