You could use wallpaper, a scarf or fabric, newspaper, aluminum foil, paper bags that you decorate, maps, or posters.

I've decorated butcher paper using markers and stamps. It's fun, easy, inexpensive, and unique.

Make yourself a potato stamp by slicing a potato in half and carving a design into the faces.

Choose a nice paper and dip the stamp in paints. If you are crafty, you could probably do multi-color patterns (paint windows on a house stamp, etc.)

Just had another cool idea with that. How about White glue instead of paint and then decorate with glitter?

Have fun!

Oh, more thoughts, go Nick Bantock on the paper and stick ribbons and other found objects onto it and see what you get.
