i was actually born and raised in chicago..and i still live here. a lot of people i asked that moved here says this place is great. a lot of stuff to do and there's so many different towns to experience different cutlures. there's a whole town of just bars and clubs, you got the baseball team rivals, and shopping centers. i mean, im kinda bored with it cause i've been here way too long and i want to move out and explore. my cousin actually lives near columbus,oh and i think she's planning to move to chicago cause she thinks its the greatest city to be in. so if you can handle the construction season and the winter/windy season..come right ahead and enjoy yourself. best thing to do is visit and explore.

I have not been to Minneapolis. However, I have just moved to Chicago, and I am not impressed. For me, I have found it difficult to make friends and find the traffic is worse here than in LA (where I moved from). Downtown is beautiful, but the people are rather close knit - I find that most are not open to new people because they've lived here their whole lives - Chicago is not a very transient city. Plus, they have terribly lame radio shows and there is abudant talk of "da Cubs, da Bears, and da mayor". I'd try Minneapolis, friend. If I had the money I would have already moved back to LA.

I live North of Minneapolis. I really must say this depends on where you stay. Right in Mpls. or in a suburb. Downtown is quite expensive to live. I have lived here my whole life and of course there are things I like and dislike of it. Up North though is beautiful if you like the outdoors. Of course were the land of 10,000 lakes to =) I love up in the Boundary Waters near Canada. You almost need to stay in the Metro area to be near "action". There are several places you can go that you just aren't near anything and can be living in a beautiful, but boring area. Hope that helps!

I feel sorry that you live in Columbus. I have visted friends there and go crazy finding things to do. Everything closes so early and it is boaring. Either city is better than Columbus. It will depend on what you like to do, experience and how muh cash you have. Love Chicago during the summer time.

Chicago has this vibe I love, I have been to five other states and six other countries and I have yet to find people who are as cool as people from Chicago and suburbs. If you are new you just have to learn your way around and relax and make friends, many people are very friendly. It is beautiful in the summer and picture perfect in the winter. They have the best party places. I love it here.
