You have obviously received many different opinions and various likes and dislikes. My opinion is that where you are is not much of a factor in how things are. I dare say that how things are is mostly determined by the individual. If one is happy in Italy, he would probably be happy in the USA or visa versa. A person's happiness depends on their attitude.

Living in the USA is the most interesting melting pot. We are a mix of so many different religions, and cultures, and beliefs. We can go to any church we want to, we can get almost anything we want for education if we are persistent, and willing to go into debt. We are free to decide our own futures, we are free to make terribly bad choices in life, we are free to be executed for murdering someone, we are free to choose where we live, what we eat, and how much of it we eat. American's tend to be patriotic, and we come together as a nation when we face odds. I can drive any car I want unless I get pulled over and they figure out it's stolen. We are free to pay taxes for everything including people who don't even live in the US but get welfare money. We are an unhealthy bunch because of the amount of stress we are under to get good educations, jobs, and pay lots more taxes so we can imprison a larger amount of our own citizens for a War we will never win, the war on drugs. We are disrespectful to our elderly, and our youth of today are lazy whiners. They complain but don't lift a finger to make anything better. They also feel that their parents owe them a living. Our Child Protective Services makes money by taking children away from their parents, so smoking has become child abuse. They have no incentive to leave children at home because their budgets are funded by head counts. Anyone who thinks foster care must be better than being with ones own family are probably wrong. Bummer eh?
All in all, with all of our problems, I am still an American and proud of it. I don't care what our reasons are for being in Iraq, or anywhere else. We are a powerful country, and I like living here, and right or wrong, I stand behind our president. Why because I'm free to choose. Freedom is not free by any means, never forget 9-11.

Hi, from the east coast USA.
Our traffic is really calm compared to yours. We have more fat people, and less arm waving when we talk.
Families are not so close to each other here either.
