We originially used Playtex Drop-in Nursers. By the time our daughter was a few months, the drop-ins we were buying started to smell and feel of petroleum no matter what brand we would buy. We had to go through a bunch of different brands because she was used to the nipples on the Playtex bottles (by size and shape).

We eventually settled on Gerber's Comfort Hold. The size and shape of the nipples are about the same as the Playtex Nursers. The Comfort Hold are also completely reusable, unlike the Playtex Nursers (the drop-ins seemed like a waste of money when there was the option to have a bottle that was completely reusable).

With the trouble we had with switching bottles, if I had to go back knowing what I know now, I would have used the simple old fashioned Gerber bottles from the beginning.

Good luck.

I like Playtex Bottles the best. The nipples for these bottles are the closest to that of a mother's. Also, the disposible liners are very convenient. ( Drop in liners are easier) Then the only thing that really needs steralizing is the nipples. I also noticed that my baby had less gas when I used the Playtex bottles.

Dr. Brown is the best. There is a tube inside the bottle and it illimates the gas bubbles before your baby drinks it. This prevent your baby to have less gas but this does not mean that you do not have to burb your baby after the bottle though. Another good thing about this bottle is that it does not leak when you drop it onto the floor.

The Dr. Browns are my favorite, but I do understand why you don't want to use them. My second choice for a bottle would be the Playtex Nursers. Stay away from the Avent bottles.

I don't recommed the VentAire Bottles. I used them with my first child and I hated them! They didn't help with his gas problem at all. I am pregnant now and have heard good things about the Parents Choice Health Check Anti-Colic Bottles. I am planning on using these. The only place I have found them though is walmart. If you don't have one near you then you can go to walmart.com and order them online. Hopefully this helps.

i think the Playtel disposable bottlers r the best...thats what i used om ny son, after breast feeding...the liners r an added expense...but its not that big if a deal....u can buy the generic brand...even though i didnt like them...so i used the playtex soft bottle liners and sometimes the drop-ins....but i found them eaiser for cleaning....not bottles to scrub...and all that needed to be boiled was the nipples...so hope this helps......but i would strongly recomend the playtex disposable nursers!!!

Playtex disposable liner bottles work great!!! Easy cleanup and you can push all the air out of the bottles before you feed the baby.

I used the parents choice from walmart. They are like the Avent bottles only cheaper. They worked great. I have also been told that the playtex drop ins are good.

I am going to use the Playtex nurser with the disposable bottle inserts. They minimize the amount of air injested and are easier for cleanup.

I bought the Ventaire ones. I heard that they were pretty good. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks after I have the baby!
