Smoke on the Water. It's the easiest song there is to learn on the guitar. The guy that was teaching me how to play showed me how to do it on the first lesson. It's only three chords.

Metallica's Seek and Destroy was my first, it teaches your left to move around and your right to mute and let ring. It kinda improves your timing too. Clean tone is going to hide your mistakes here so I recommend going for slight distortion and listening well. As a beginner, of course, I think u should avoid bridge and solo. I use this song as a warmup. It doesn't have much strumming work though so I play Nirvana's About a Girl next.
Tablature is easier for beginners than standard notation, u can search metaltabs.com for Seek and Destroy. Have a great time.
