I have pain around my ear. One doctor cleaned out a wax plug. That didn't help.Three months later a new doctor said TMJ. My dentist made me a mouth splint which helped for a few months. There is no swelling so the next doctor said I'm depressed. I am taking over the counter pain killers constantly because I cannot tolerate the pain at all. Natural childbirth was more tolerable. I just investigated the parotid salivary gland, and I see this is the area of my pain. How do I get help when I have no symptoms but pain? Also, heat packs feel really good on this site.

Sounds like parotiditis. Take antibiotics, some paracetol/aspirin when the pain is severe, continue hot fermentation, and keep a good hygiene. The parotid duct is situated over the 2nd upper molar. Visit your dentist. He can see if u're maintaining good oral hygiene and advice u accordingly.

My father went through the same thing recently -- first they said it was TMJ, then it turned out to be an ear infection, treatable with anti-biotics. At this point, if western medicine has failed you (and I think 3 tries on your part shows good faith and effort), it might be time to visit a Chinese herbalist, an accupuncturist, or a chiropractor/nutritionist -- or any trained practitioner of alternative medicine that can look at it holistically.

If you haven't seen an ENT then I would do that next. Perhaps all you need is a doctor that specializes in the ear and throat to get to the real problem.
